A list of everybody involved in the production of rice. From beginning to end!
The planting and growth stage:
Farmers-
Those who...
...Select the seeds for plantation
...Till and work the land (including water buffalo handlers)
...Grow the seedlings and then convert them into the maid paddock
...Are able to effectively look after the plants health, and when necessary create and spray chemicals
Preparation stage:
The farmers who harvest the grain
The men and women who collect the grain to dry it out
Those who control the milling process and remove the outer husk of the grain
The people who bag the white grain ready for transport
The exporting stage (if not being sold locally):
Transport drivers- for transporting the rice from one place to another.
Ship and cargo workers- for sending the rice across the world!
From then on the rice is simply taken to markets and supermarkets around the new country. The people involved would just be your typical import companies shop assistants, supermarket owners and then finally you! The consumer.
Imports and exports connect the world, therefore rice is building a bridge between country and country!
